Save a website by clicking the See Then Build icon in Chrome’s toolbar. On X, you can also use the green icon beside a post’s bookmark.
After an X post is saved, its tag review opens beside the confirmation. Remove a suggestion that does not fit, or add your own tag without leaving X.
On an X search results page, the owner can click the toolbar icon to review the keywords and filters, then choose Add search to STB. The search appears in AI searches and is used for future daily discovery. To review earlier matches, choose a starting date; the extension opens matching X results so you can save relevant posts individually. Unsupported filters need review before saving.

- Download and unzip the extension. Keep the folder somewhere permanent.
- In Chrome, open
chrome://extensionsand turn on Developer mode. - Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped see-then-build-chrome folder.
- Pin the extension in Chrome. Open a website and click its toolbar icon to save. Sign in to See Then Build in Chrome if asked.
After saving an X post, review the selected tag suggestions beside the post and remove any that do not fit. The toolbar popup offers the same tag controls for website saves. You can add or create tags too; each change updates everywhere in your collection. Find the example on your Saves page, with its tags and notes. Websites open at their original source; X posts keep their embeds. Save dates use Eastern time.
Already using the extension?
Download version 1.6.7, replace the files in your existing extension folder, then click Reload in chrome://extensions and reload any open X tabs. Saved X posts will show a filled green icon again after a reload or a later visit. If you still have version 1.0, remove it first and use Load unpacked. Your saved examples, bookmarks, notes and tags stay in your account.
Your collection stays yours
The extension saves only the page or post you choose. Website saves capture its URL, title and a screenshot of the top of the page. It uses your normal See Then Build sign-in; it does not read passwords, authentication cookies, messages, or your private notes. Repeated clicks reuse the existing example and preserve its first save date.
New sources are public by default. Open a saved example to change its visibility to Private. Your notes and captured screenshots stay private; public website previews are captured separately.
Chrome briefly moves the page to the top for its screenshot, then restores your position. The image can include anything visible in that page, including signed-in content, and is stored privately with your saved example. When Chrome cannot capture it, STB tries the public page through Microlink; only the page link is sent to that service.
Saves run in the background; you do not need a See Then Build tab open. If sign-in or Chrome’s cookie settings require a temporary connection tab, the extension opens one and closes it after saving. A tab you opened yourself stays yours. Sign-in in this app and sign-in in Chrome are separate.
This is an unpacked extension, ready to load in Chrome. It has not been published in the Chrome Web Store.
